Ken Malovos is an experienced trial lawyer with over 35 years of legal practice. He brings immense experience, having tried hundreds of complex cases in state and federal courts, as well as before arbitration panels. He now serves exclusively as an arbitrator and mediator.
His primary areas of practice are:
Arbitration and Mediation: Mr. Malovos serves as an arbitrator and mediator in all types of commercial and business disputes, both by judicial appointment and selection by other lawyers. He is a panel member of the American Arbitration Association and the Office of Administrative Hearings, State of California. In 2006 and 2007, Mr. Malovos was selected as a “Super Lawyer” for Alternative Dispute Resolution in Northern California.
Construction and Real Estate: Mr. Malovos has represented owners, developers, lenders and contractors in a variety of claims including breach of contract, additional compensation, delay, acceleration, foreclosure of mechanic's liens, construction defects and real property disputes.
General Business Litigation: Mr. Malovos has represented private companies and public agencies in all types of disputes including contracts, employment, intellectual property, anti-trust, corporate and partnership dissolution and legal malpractice.
Mr. Malovos is a long-standing member of the Sacramento County Bar Association. He served on the Bar Council from 1988 to 1994 and served as Bar Association President in 1994. He is the founding member of the Sacramento County Bar Association's Constructive Law Section. He serves currently as chair of the Bar's Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.
Mr. Malovos has taught trial practice as an instructor at Hastings Law School and as an adjunct professor at the University of California, Davis School of Law. He lectures frequently to other attorneys on trial practice, construction litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He serves regularly as a judge pro tem for the Sacramento County Superior Court.
